Terms of Service

HappyTrails helps you discover places, plan trips, and generate AI-powered guides and audio narration. Place data, maps, and directions come from third-party providers and AI-generated content is produced automatically — both can be incomplete, outdated, or inaccurate. Always verify important details (opening hours, safety conditions, routes, travel requirements) with official sources before relying on them. You use the service and travel at your own risk.

You must be at least 13 years old to create an account. You are responsible for keeping your password secure and for all activity under your account. Provide a valid email address so we can help you recover access and send essential service messages. Notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use of your account.

When using HappyTrails, you agree not to:

• Break the law or infringe the rights of others.
• Upload content that is illegal, hateful, harassing, or that you don't have the right to share.
• Attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, data, or systems.
• Scrape, resell, or bulk-extract data from the service, or overload it with automated traffic.
• Misuse sharing features to distribute spam or deceptive content.

We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these rules.

Trips, notes, photos, and other content you create remain yours. By uploading content you give us permission to store, process, and display it as needed to run the service — for example showing a trip you chose to share or publish. If you publish a trip to Explore Trips, you allow other users to view it and copy it into their own accounts. You are responsible for the content you upload and share.

Some features require a paid subscription or a Trip Pass. Payments are processed by Stripe. Subscriptions renew automatically until cancelled; you can cancel at any time and keep access until the end of the paid period. Trip Passes last for the stated period and are not renewed automatically. Except where required by law, payments are non-refundable. Prices and included features may change; we will give notice of material changes before they affect you.

We work to keep HappyTrails reliable, but the service is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind. We may add, change, or remove features, and we may suspend the service for maintenance. We are not liable for outages of the third-party providers the service depends on.

To the maximum extent permitted by law, HappyTrails will not be liable for indirect, incidental, or consequential damages — including losses arising from travel decisions made based on information in the app. Our total liability for any claim is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim arose.

You may stop using HappyTrails and request deletion of your account at any time via the contact page. We may suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms or where required by law. Sections that by their nature should survive (such as limitations of liability) survive termination.

If we make material changes to these terms, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above. Continued use of the service after a change means you accept the updated terms.
